The Joys of Technology

3.31.2010
The past couple of days my email account has been quiet...as in, I've gotten no emails from anyone at all and it's safe to say that that is not the norm. It seems that my Verizon account is breaking ties with Yahoo and throughout the process of switching strictly to Verizon I am unable to access any emails that I would have recieved starting March 29th. So, if you have sent me an email within the past few days please know that I have not recieved it but hopefully I'll be able to get back into my account shortly. If that is not the case I'm researching setting up a new email account. Talk about a pain! All my contacts and log-ins for my DT's are in my email account so I'm feeling a bit lost! If you really need to get in touch with me please give a call or leave a comment here or on Facebook.

Kinda Fun...

3.30.2010
This month I have the following layout in Creating Keepsakes magazine...I had another one in last month's publication and I have to admit, it's kind of fun seeing my pages in print! I don't think I'll ever get tired of that little thrill! Creating Keepsakes has always been my favorite publication too so it makes it all the more sweeter to have them showing me some recognition.

I have the following layout published in this month's issue of Scrapstreet (a first for me) which can be found and viewed in it's entirety here. Stacey Michaud sent me an email awhile back asking if I'd be able to submit something and of course I said yes!

Passionate

I also recently was asked by Francine Clouden for permission to share my layout 123, Be Silly, Be You on Craft Gossip which I again agreed to! All fun stuff!

Now I'm off to relax a bit...I'm teaching a scrapbooking class tomorrow at my local scrapbook store which I'm excited about and need to be prepared for, which for me, means getting some rest! =)

Painting Lunch

Painting Lunch

It was a busy weekend here...two birthday parties in two days' time. The first one on Saturday was Zoey's good friend Ruby's party and the one on Sunday was a classmate's party and was a Star Wars/Bowling birthday party. It was Zoey's first time bowling and she had a blast. Last night Zoey painted her bread that we then used to make her sandwich for her lunch at school today. Pretty easy and fun to do...all you do is add a drop of food coloring to water and use a clean, never before used paint brush or a Q-tip. We made it even more fun by then cutting out the sandwich in the shape of a flower by using an over-sized cookie cutter. Looking forward to Easter break coming up soon...Grandma is coming to visit! Hooray!

Petaloo Layouts for March

3.28.2010
She is Mom

Thought I'd quick share my Petaloo layouts for this month. The layout above is of my good friend and her daughter (title is from the perspective of her daughter)...the blooms are the fun Mulberry Street Embossed Daisies by Petaloo. I love them and they have so many colors available!

I Love You

The blooms that I used on the above layout of Zoey are the beautiful Mulberry Street Wild Roses. Having so much fun getting to play with Petaloo's many flowers and embellishments.

Spring Break : Part 2

3.26.2010
Sharing these a bit late but that's alright. Things have been so busy and I'm in the middle of a book that I love which means that I choose reading over blogging when it comes to any "me time" that I might have. The book is The Actor and the Housewife by Shannon Hale and it has had me laughing huge belly laughs out loud, giggling like a school girl and crying steady and silent tears that I may as well just leave on my cheeks as more tears are sure to follow. I was totally counting on this being a fun, fluff read, and in a way it totally is, but instead of skimming over pages at an extreme pace (which I sometimes do when enjoying those easy reads) I've been savoring and enjoying every little word of this book. I love the style in which this book was written, it reminds me a bit of the children's book Uncle Wiggly's Storybook in how the chapters are titled...if you've read any of the Uncle Wiggly Tales and then read this book you'll get what I am saying. In Uncle Wiggly a chapter will end and a new one will start like "And if the window curtain doesn't roll up so fast that it flies to the top of the ceiling, taking the goldfish with it, you shall next hear about Uncle Wiggly and the Lion." A chapter in The Actor and the Housewife will begin like this "In which two worlds collide, taxis are not readily available, and no one learns a helpful moral." I don't know, perhaps I need to get out more...but I seem to see a connection between the two.

Anyways, on to the photos from spring break. In addition to the Great Lakes Aquarium we checked out the Duluth Art Institute and pictured below were a few of my favorite pieces.

We also checked out the Duluth Children's Museum and to be honest, we were a bit disappointed with it...I guess we're spoiled with the one that we have near us!

The Lake Superior Railroad Museum however made up for our slight disappointment with the Children's Museum. So amazing and so many different things to see...

It was neat too because there were reproductions of store fronts throughout the museum and it was fun for Zoey to see the different things used once upon a time.

Her favorite storefront though? The Bridal Boutique of course!

She shared with me that she wanted the wedding dress pictured below.

Super fun overall...very nice to get away. We will definitely be going back. The best part though was just goofing around together as a family.
