It's been awhile since I've designed for the paper crafting industry (whether it be manufacturer or kit club). I had resigned from my previous engagements due to my working outside the home more at the time and our re-adjusting things at home to make everyone's schedules (and therefore lives) work. I remember being really sad about leaving my design work behind but knowing that it was the right thing to do at that time due to just how worn out I was and how busy things were in my life. Well, things are seemingly aligning themselves nicely for us here now, I've had a job change and schedules have been tweaked and I've been finding myself craving time to be creative again. I've been missing the deadlines, missing knowing what products were coming out and when and knowing what the trends are when it comes to the crafting world. I tend to be pretty proactive when it comes to the creative things that I "want" so I've been keeping tabs on companies that I like in the industry and have been watching when they hold open calls for designers. I submitted for a spot on the SEI design team (a manufacturer of scrapbooking and art supplies) and I am tickled to share that I was invited to join their team for 2015!
On the day that they were doing call backs I waited all day and got no email or call and I have to admit I was a bit bummed. I went in to work at 4 and came back home after 8pm and was exhausted. I packed Zoey's lunch for the next day at school and took care of all the night time prep that goes into working late and then finally logged in to check my email before bed and was so surprised and tickled to discover that I had an email from SEI and was indeed invited to join their team! So excited and just plain happy to be on board again with designing and having creative endeavors on the horizon.
I can't wait to share my SEI creations with you all!
