Happy Easter!

3.31.2013

It was a cold and snowy, blustery day here and very not like Spring but we managed the best we could. Here we are posing in front of the snow that surrounds our house right now before going to church.

Also, last minute we had to have Zoey wear black tights with her dress instead of white since all the white pairs mysteriously had grass stains or dirty knees on them.  Hmmm...

She didn't care either way though so all was good!

I set the self-timer outside for this one and I love how it turned out!  So nice to have a picture of the two of us that isn't a head shot!

After church we came home to discover that the Easter Bunny had been there and left a little scavenger hunt of sorts with clues in the eggs leading to the Easter basket.

So fun!  Despite the weather we had a wonderful day and truly got to enjoy one another and what this day signifies.

Now I'm off to get Easter dinner started.  May you all have a blessed Easter!

Getting Ready for Easter Means...

3.30.2013

That some serious snow and rain is falling leaving a lovely, slushy, mess...no tulips or daffodils to be found here!

Eggs have been hard boiled and have been colored...

Bunny cupcakes have been baked and decorated...

Some flowers are on the table in hopes of bringing some Spring like feelings inside...

Tomorrow will bring church, searching for the Easter basket and a baked ham!  Yes, a ham!  We got a free ham from the grocery store which means Zoey and I will enjoy some "real" meat for Easter dinner this year and Ethan will as always, will dine on his vegetarian fare.  :)

Hope this Easter finds you healthy and happy and with those that you love and care for most!

Some Sledding Fun...

And I apologize for the music selection...it was Zoey's favorite of what I had on my laptop so that's what it ended up being.  :)

A Little Fashionista in the Making...

3.12.2013

We went out of town today and did a bit of early spring/summer clothes shopping for Zoey courtesy grandma!  Thanks Grannie Annie!  Zoey picked out all of theses outfits by herself and I have to say that I am impressed with her selections.  Her favorite outfit was the one above...I can't believe she can fit in size 6x and 7's still!  Works for me though because there are some pretty cute selections in that size range that don't look "too old" yet.

The little legging and t-shirt tunic style shirts will be so comfy for those in-between days.

The silky heart shorts pictured below we got to go with a plain light aqua blue shirt that she has already at home.  Zoey wanted it to be known that she would not be wearing the elephant shirt with these shorts!  :)

This is such a happy and fun outfit...

And then this is my favorite outfit that she picked out.  So easy, breezy, chic!

She's been wanting a pair of light brown/tan khaki's for awhile now since she outgrew her last pair so we picked a pair of those up and she chose a little tank top to go with it (or with other shorts she has already at home).

We found a really cute pair of everyday summer sandals and also picked out a pair of spring/summer p.j.'s that came with pants and shorts.  Here are the sandals...

After our clothing shopping was done we headed to the bookstore (to pick up Ethan...that's where he hides out while we shop) and ended up picking up the book The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler for Zoey.  It looks like a great book and it's a part of a series which is nice too.

It was a fun day in (the little) city!  It's always nice to have a change of scenery once in awhile, even if it's just a little one!

It's Spring Break Here...

3.09.2013

Doesn't really look very Spring like yet however...

And here is just a song that I've been listening to over and over here this evening.

"I wonder why the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries cuz he loves them both...we're all castaways that need a rope."

Playing Catch-Up on the Blog

3.08.2013

I haven't posted anything in forever it seems...and it's not because of not wanting to but rather of life moving as it does...perhaps a bit faster than usual.  February was filled with sickness in our house. Over and over and over again.  It started feeling like a really bad joke.  Stomach flu for all of us (twice for Zoey), and a really nasty respiratory sinus cold for Zoey and I and then a fever that lasted a total of six days for Zoey!  Leo camped out on the couch as you can see...he thinking that the makeshift bed set up on the couch was for him and not for the rotating (one) healthy person in the house at any given moment.

So here in a nutshell is the healthy bits of February and early March in photos...you will perhaps see a pattern.

Zoey and her friend Gracie sledding...

having a tea party...

Zoey and Leo cuddling together...

Zoey and the neighbor boy sledding...

Zoey and Leo snuggling...

Leo being a snoozer...

and again...this time a different blanket.  Good grief dog!

Here was one of our big snowfalls...it was nice to get to be outside with Zoey to enjoy it!

Leo pouting inside...which is silly because all he really likes to do is sleep.  :)

Time for cocoa and marshmallows...

One day I gave Zoey my camera and the following two photos were the keepers...

Here is Zoey and her friend Ruby...sledding!

I recently made Zoey's dolls a lemonade stand (which you can find here) and here Zoey and Ruby are playing with it.  Zoey loves it and I have to say that I too am a wee bit tickled that I pulled it off and it turned out the way it did.

That's about it...I have a few more posts to share but they warrant their own posts dedicated just to them so I will share those soon.  Hoping to get back into a more regular blogging routine again now that we are all healthy again.
