Sayner Stampede 2010 Show

5.02.2010
Misty and I at the Sayner Stampede Show

This weekend was the annual Sayner Stampede Scrapbooking and Stamping Show that's held in Sayner, Wisconsin. This year I worked the Make-n-Takes for the Paper Studio booth with my good friend and co-worker Misty. It was c-r-a-z-y but definitely fun this year as we had record numbers attending and the make-n-takes were literally non-stop until the end of the show. To say that I have been taking it easy today would be an understatement! We worked from 7am until after 7pm on Saturday.

It was fun to see the different booths and to see and get to talk to (briefly) all the people attending.

Make-n-Takes

Lots of familiar faces and some new ones as well. So cool that all these people have one thing in common though...the love of this craft!

Make-n-Takes

For the make-n-take that I helped people with this year we had to use irons...I was positioned all day with an iron on either side of me and I will tell you this, A) I was extremely happy that nobody was burned at the show and B) boy was I ever HOT! With the combination of all the people, my nerves and the hot irons that were positioned 5 inches from me all day it's safe to say that I was sweating all day long! =) Was it worth it? Absolutely! The technique that we shared with others was a wax resist technique with the end result being beautifully unique patterned paper that you create that looks similar to this:

and here was the finished make-n-take using some of the new Hero Arts stamps.

For a detailed tutorial on how to use this technique be sure to check out the tutorial that I posted here on the Paper Studio blog. I am so proud to be a part of the Paper Studio team...everyone that I work with works so very hard and it really shows at times like these.

It was another fun and crazy year! Thank you to all the customers and friends that stopped out to visit us at the booth this year! And thank you to my mom for watching the Zoester while I was away for the day!

Zoesie loves her new hula-hoop that she got from Grandma and had so much fun getting spoiled all weekend long!

This is REALLY cool Jen! Looks like fun, glad no one got hurt. Hot things make me nervous in general----family joke that I'm not allowed near a hot glue gun, I have a low heat one.... :)
